The Matchday Insight : Week 5

After back to back action packed matchdays (Rooney and Aguero hattricks) we head towards another matchday full of goals and fantasy points.A bit different to previous weeks as we had champions league matches midweek , Manchester United and chelsea play each other , Manchester City need to get used to playing CL and premier league in the same week ( we saw how Tottenham suffered with adjusting to this last year ). But going by the form these teams are in , i dont see anything stopping them.

Last week was full of goals and those of you who did stick with Aguero ( Most of you did end up dropping him as he had a long tour of Asia prior to that ) and Rooney , did get the worth of picking them. Chicharito came back with a bang , so did Odemwingie and Adebayor. Keepers had an exceptional week as Gea , Szczesny, Hart , Foster, Friedel , Begovic all gave 14 + points . First win for Arsenal , Spurs and WBA.

Lets get straight to week 5 and look at the easy picks for this matchday :

Blackburn vs Arsenal
Everton vs Wigan
Wolves vs QPR
Bolton vs Norwich
Fulham vs Man City

FORWARDS :

1. Dzeko / Aguero / Rooney
Im sure after 4 weeks of this season most of us have got atleast 2 of these 3. All 3 are in top form and its tough not to keep them in your team. Also, for those who bought them cheap, it will not be a good idea to let them go.

2. Klasnic
At home and playing Norwich would be the ideal for Klasnic to score. At close to 8 , he would be the pick of the strikers and will help to save some funds to invest else where.

3. Adebayor
You just cant keep this man quiet as he loves to be in the thick of things and score from any opportunity that comes his way. Last week he was for 5.77 before he scored on debut for Spurs. If you have him at that price its great. At 9.13 he is a good pick too.

4. Odemwingie
He seems to be back in form and back to how he was last season. It did seem he would be leaving the club with some good offers coming his way but suprisingly agreed to stay back and sign a new deal with WBA. Away to Swansea this week and coming off a good week with a goal does put him in my list of top picks. Expensive at around 17 but in case you got him earlier he would be a steal.

5. Rochina
Another good cheap option at 5.70 , scored a spectacular goal for blackburn last week.

Note : I have not mentioned the likes of Chicharito / Mata / Sturridge etc as the matchups are tough and prefer to stay away from them. Rooney being exceptional and you know why. No , not calling him "White Pele"...

MIDFIELDERS

1. Silva / Nasri :
Both are good picks in midfield and value for their price as without them i dont think Dzeko and Aguero would score the way they did. Im not too fond of having both in my team so its upto you who you favour. Both seem great picks.

2. Young :
He was not even on the bench in midweek shows clearly that he was rested for the big one this week against Chelsea. I do think he will be the difference between the two teams. A revolution since he joint United and is playing at a different level at the moment.

3. Hunt / Jarvis
An easy match up for Wolves and they are playing some good football. Their midfield is controlling their game and all of them are doing well. Likes of Hunt , Jarvis and O Hara all look good playing with each other. Tough not to have one of them in your side. Hunt would be the pick at around 11.

4. Taarabt
He has been in good form with an average of above 8.6 per game. Still cheap at 8.34 , a good pick as he gets alot of shots on target and along side Barton and Swp, he will surely get more chances.

5. VDV
If fit he has to be the pick of the midfielders. Averaging more than 15.5 per game and 7 shots on target in 2 games is an exciting pick to have in your team. Expensive at 17.87 so be sure he is 100% fit before you pick him .

DEFENDERS :

1. G. Cahill
Playing at home to Norwich and solid in defence. He does well offensively as well with set pieces. If you have spare cash to spend on a defender , Cahill would be a good bet this week.

2. Gibbs
Had a great game last week against Swansea , scoring 16.5 pts and keeping a clean sheet would give him alot of confidence. Still cheap at around 6 , he is a good pick. Wenger seems to be sticking with him even though he went and brought in Santos. I dont see any signs of him dropping Gibbs any time soon.( Keep a track on the team news for this one )

3. Baines
After Everton have let go of Arteta , Baines seems to be taking all the free kicks, penalties , corners etc. Having scored last week and Everton getting back to mid table show good signs for picking him. He is expensive at aroung 19. Playing wigan at home and surely a point scorer. Would is be better investing in him rather that the likes of RvP, Bale etc...why not ?

4. Boyata
At 2.55 and playing at home to Norwich would make him a good bet. Although Bolton were scored against ( 5 goals ) last week he still ended up with 5 pts. Does justify why i would put him on this list.

5. Richards
Tough not to mention him as he was rested in midweek and surely going to start. Average of around 9 and good offensively. Always good if the defender is a good in offense.

GOALKEEPERS :

1. Hart / DDG
Have to have one of these 2 who consistently give points in double digits. Those who brought them cheap , im sure will stick with them irrespective of the opponent.

2. Jaaskelainen
After the hammering got by Manchester United last week , it dropped his price to around 5. Im sure Bolton would be happy to play Norwich at this point. With good defense ahead of him he would be hoping to keep a clean sheet.

3. Howard
Everton is getting back from a bad start and i do see them getting their act together. Howard is a solid keeper to have as he always makes good saves.

4. Hennessey
Playing at home against QPR and with an average of around 8. He is a good option at 6.55 in case you do not have the funds for a keeper.
