Gylfi Sigurdsson signs for Tottenham

Andre-Villas Boas today made Gylfi Sigurdsson his first signing as Tottenham head coach. After the heroic display for Swansea last season in a short spell ( on loan ) he did prove that he is meant for the Premier League.Tottenham Hotspurs have been looking to strengthen their midfield as they seem to lose out on 1 or 2 of their key players.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has been on target right from the start of his loan move to Swansea last season and scored 7 goals in 19 appearances for the Welsh Side.

Swansea had all terms agreed with Hoffenheim and Sigurdsson to make the loan to a permanent move after agreeing to a 6.8 million pound transfer fees but due to change in manager the deal did not go through.Brendan Roggers took over as Liverpool boss during this process.Thereafter Sigurdsson was tempted to follow Roggers to Liverpool but nothing materialized.

Spurs fans are delighted with this development and why not. Sigurdsson is an attacking option and if they would lose out on VDV ( wanting a move to Germany to spend time with his family ) he could well step in to take that midfield spot.

With respect to fantasy teams, we do have a great option in midfield however it will be interesting to see what price he is valued at.I do expect Yahoo to consider him as a new player coming into the league and value him at around 6. If that is the case , we will yet again have a bargain pick which will be tough to ignore.

However, in the official game, he did join last season at 5.0 but its impossible to see him valued at that this time around.I would expect his valuation to be close to 7.5
