Matchday Insight: Week 13

RVP - "I will deliver the balls...Oh..I mean goals"
Sometimes things are just that simple. Tevez and Suarez proved it last week, that good matchups at home is just the perfect combination to look for and comparing anything against that is just pulling your odds down. So keeping in with that theme in mind will help us have a very clear cut vision of what is awaiting our teams this fantasy weekend. Lets go over the games.

United vs QPR is exactly what we want to see in the perfect matchup of the weekend for fantasy managers followed by Totenham vs West Ham. What follows is still very inviting with Everton hosting Norwich who are winless away from home, Wigan vs Reading which seems to be promising goals and my solitary away recommendation Arsenal travelling to Villa.

The Starting XI

Goalkeepers:
1. Howard: Norwich have turned up their home form but away they have been dismal scoring only 3 goals in 6 games. Everton are unbeaten at home and strong contenders for a CS.
Options: Lloris is a mere 2 mil worth so even if he ends up not playing he's giving you the money leverage and if he starts its the best situation possible. DeGea is the premium buy with guaranteed returns.

Defenders:
2. Shorey: 15 Points!!!..without a clean sheet, 9 successful crosses and an assist.....nuff said!.
3. Vertonghen: Great matchups, great potential and a knack of getting the SOTs.
4. Smalling: Cheap and a part of United back 4. Great Value play.
Options: Wilkinson is well below 5 mil and has a high chance of getting a cs as Stoke are back home. Baines is the premium play in defenders for the week with a mouthwatering matchup.

Midfielders:
5. Cazorla: He's been very consistent is hands down this season's....season Keeper.
6. Valencia: Should be able to get into double figures points easily this week.
7. Adam Johnson: Has been very consistent in the last 3 matchups regardless of opposition and his form is definitely on the way up.
8. Sterling: Is a great value play if you need funds deputed else were..which is a very likely possibility how this weeks feeling as a write this article, especially considering my next recommendation.
Options: Bale is the premium play for the midfielders this week and again has a great matchup to look forward to. Michu if held on discount should not be fiddled with. Wilshire is coming of a goal scoring outing during the midweek champions league match and is available for 3 mil. Ben Arfa: Coming up against the most leaky defence of the league can only bode well for this magical midfielder.  (Injury Doubt)*Ruled out for the weekend.* Option instead of HBA is Hitzlsperger at same price as HBA discount.

Forwards:
9. RVP: The premium buy and the must have this week. Of all the premium buys available to you this week he has to be the first one to be considered when spending the big bucks. Its feeling almost impossible to consider leaving him out. Hopefully the saturday price change makes him a bit easier on the pocket.
10. Defoe: Will be back as the lone striker and playing his old club. Should be a profitable investment.
11. Giroud/Podolski: Depends on how your funds situation works out...more money go for Giroud...less money go for Podolski...both in decent form.
Options: Kone can produce good numbers at home as he faces reading. Tevez/Suarez would be held on discount by lots...if thats the case keep it so. Jelavic will be up top alone for everton with Fellaini suspended, that might work in his favour.

Well, Clearly there will be one, or if you can stretch it... two, heavy investments in your team. What you need to see is the best combination possible with those investments. The premium player most potential to least is as follows:
RVP > BALE > BAINES > DEGEA.
clearly,
FWD > MID > DEF > KEEP.
so pick wisely and lastly, don't forget to have some fun.!

    1. HBA has had an hamstring injury, the extent I'm not sure about. Will have to check.
      Valencia is better than Rafael
RVP is better than Suarez this week.
      So its worth it.

    2. This is better than the first team. Although check HBA's injury seriousness.

    3. If you can get Wilshire as a filler instead of Ferguson, than would be much better. He's available for 3 mil.

    11. Asril....you have to take a call. I dont want to influence you too much. go with your gut and instinct. Otherwise however this weekend turns out, you'll have some decision in the end that you'll regret. Good luck.

  4. Hi,

    My team for week 13

    Al Habsi
    Vertonghen Shorey Maicon
    Cazorla Ben Arfa Hitzlsperger Wilshere
    Giroud Defoe RVP

Any changes needed? Thinking of swapping Al Habsi to Lloris and use the extra fund to upgrade Wilshere with another MF priced at around 8. Which one is better? Thanks.

    1. Good team. Perfect forwards, defence in my opinion. Yet again Ben Afra is an injury doubt so be careful with that. You could do the lloris switch but now just keep an option for the HBA spot too.

    2. After Ben Arfa injury, I switched him to Valencia and replace Al Habsi with Lloris.

      Lloris
      Vertonghen Shorey Maicon
      Cazorla Wilshere Hitzlsperger Valencia
      Giroud Defoe RVP

      Looks OK? Thanks.

    3. Looks perfect. I myself have 8 of those in my team right now.

    Cazorla - A Johnson - Valencia - Sterling

  6. Hello - Is week 13 a double game week as there are midweek fixtures as well?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No. Changes will need to be made once teams are locked for this week for midweek, I assume.

  7. T. Howard
    A. Wilkinson - M. Nastasic - R. Ferdinand
    Cazorla - Michu - Nolan - H. Ben Arfa
    C. Tévez - L. Suárez - R. Lambert

    M. Nastasic or Smalling

    1. Smalling for sure. hmm...actually you already have Rio. If Nastasic is on discount maybe hold him. He's not a great pick for this week with alot of cs potential else where. (could be my chelsea at home bias coming in, but still.)
Doubts in team are Nolan, HBA. those spot can be improved.

    1. Well...I see your going with Suarez RVP which is kind of making your middies weak. Its a gamble but a good one. Go for it.

  9. Updated HBA's status. He's NOT PLAYING this weekend. Make adjustments accordingly.
