The Matchday Insight : Week 13

Something good about midweek CL matches is that the weekend approaches really fast and i cant wait to sit back and catchup on most of the matches this coming weekend.Been travelling for over two weeks and been managing to catchup on football on my phone.Well now back and looking forward to a new matchday.

Highlights of week 12 : Consistency of Mr. Rvp , back with a bang Mr. Adebayor , Liverpool's commanding win over a poor Chelsea team, first loss of the season for Newcastle and Spurs climbing up the ladder to 3ed spot.It must be a bad time for a Chelsea fan as things are not going their way this season and they seem to be running out of ideas. On the other hand Arsenal, who didnt start well , seem to have found their rythem and have been sailing quite comfortably to top 7 spot.

Manchester clubs are far the most threatening teams this season and with both needing to get a result in their last group matche in Champions league , it will be interesting to see how they go about their matches in the coming 2-3 weeks.I do expect alot of rotation and resting of players as its a do or die situation in the big money league.

Lets get straight to Week 13 :

Easy Matchups :

Sunderland vs Wigan
Arsenal vs Fulham
West Brom vs Tottenham
Chelsea vs Wolves

Forwards :

Rvp
Adebayor / Aguero
Bendtner / Walters / Helguson / Yakubu / Hernandez

There seem to be a number of consistent forwards who dont cost too much.Apart of from Rvp and Adebayor there are a lot of forwards in the range of 10 - 13 who would defenitely justify their valuation such as the ones i have mentioned above. All seem to have good matchups and worth a spot as your 3rd striker. My personal picks would be between Bendtner and Hernandez

Midfielders :

Vdv / Lampard / Bale
Silva / Walcott
Pilkington / Ramsey / Sessegnon / Eagles
Ben Arfa / Colback

This could be a good week to have Lampard in your side as they face Wolves at home.I do think Chelsea have issues to solve in their team but Lampard does seem to deliver in such times. Vdv and Bale are keeping spurs in good momentum and any of the two could be worth a pick. Silva has been our season long recommendation from week 1. Walcott has been is great form and more of a striker than a regular midfielder. Apart from the above Pilkington , Sessegnon , Eagles and Ramsey could be worth a look as they play at home. BenArfa and Colback are good fillers if you need money for elsewhere. No mention of Nani and Young as they did play midweek and have not been in such a dominating form in the recent weeks and i would wait to see United get back to their dominating form to start picking their players in my team.

Defenders :

G.Johnson / Vermaelen
Richards / Jones
L.Young / Traore
Brown / Caldwell

G. Johnson played exceptionaly well against Chelsea and has to continue his good form if he has to make it to the England's squad again. There a few good defenders to choose from this week .  The likes of Richards, Jones and Vermalaen provide good value and are good attackers as well. I always prefer to pick defenders who play on the wings as they tend to accumulate points from crosses , assist etc and therefore all the above and the likes of Young , Traore are decent picks. In case you dont have much funds to spend on a defender then Brown and Caldwell could be looked at.

Keepers :

Westwood
DDG
Ruddy

Before picking a keeper its important to ensure he is playing at home as they usualy start as favourites to win and have a better performance than the away team. Last few weeks have seen good keepers having a tough time in defence like Cech and Krul last week who gave -ve 6 and -ve 7 points. Westwood and Ruddy are good picks this week. If you have Gea cheap then only keep him.

Well thats all we have for you for Week 13. I hope you all have a good week and thank you once again for taking out time to read this blog.We look forward to your feedback so that we can serve you better. Cheers !!!
