The Matchday Insight : Week 9

We have learnt a lot from the last 3 weeks and im sure most of you will agree with me on this :

1. To stay away from most players playing CL in midweek as they tend to be rotated or tired.
2. Manchester clubs are not at all close to how they started the first 5 weeks.

3.Newcastle and Liverpool seem to show consistency and provide good value picks.
4.Newly promoted teams(QPR,Swansea,Norwich) all seem to inconsistent and not at all dependable.
5.The best picks from Week 1 to Week 5 ( Dzeko,Young,Silva,SWP,Cabaye,Richards,Gibbs etc) all seem to have lost their momentum and apart from Silva, the rest need a break from fantasy.
6.Manchester Derby ( after a midweek CL game) will be tough to depend on where fantasy is concerned.

Let's get straight to week 9 picks :

Easy Matchups:
Liverpool
vs Norwich
Newcastle vs Wigan
QPR vs Chelsea
Blackburn vs Tottenham
AstonVilla
vs WBA
Arsenal vs Stoke

Forwards:
Rvp

I've read many articles calling Arsenal a "One man show" and looking at the way they have been playing I won't disagree to that unless we see the likes of Walcott,Arshavin and Arteta play the way they did in previous seasons. However RVP is in form and has been scoring consistently in the last few weeks.Top pick this week.

Suarez
Watching him play against United last week makes me feel that goals are just around the corner for Suarez. With the likes of Gerrard and Adam pairing in midfield and playing Norwich at home should give Suarez a good chance to get on the scoring sheet.

Ba
Has been is great form playing for a team in form and against a week Wigan side.He has been a good purchase for Newcastle(on a free transfer) and having him in your fantasy team will ensure points.

Adebayor
Lately Adebayor has gone quiet and Defoe has taken most of the limelight.Playing Blackburn doesn't come at a better time for Adebayor and I do prefer him to Defoe to accumulate points this week.

Sturridge
The most consistent of the Chelsea strikers and been a good fantasy picks. His energy and stamina overshadow the likes of Drogba and Anelka which can be proven with the number of goals per game ratio.

Agbonlahor
Aston villa have been fairly consistent this season and deserve to be in the top half of the table.Agbonlahor has been the pick of their players and their game does seem to be played around him.

Midfielders:
Gerrard

He is back with a bang.Gerrard has been desperate to get back to playing after being out for more that 6 months due to injury. If you got him last week at 12+ would be a good season long pick.He is still cheap close to 16.Playing Norwich at home so don't miss out.

BenArfa

He has been out of the newcastle side for a long time and is ready for his first start this season. We have seen the likes of Cabaye and Ryan Taylor make the most of the opportunity but I'm afraid its time to switch focus.Though Cabaye still should be a good pick playing along side Arfa.

Ramires

News regarding his injury is positive and chances of him being ready for Sunday are high.Has been in our midfield picks for last last few weeks and that doesn't seem to change.

Petrov/Eagles
Playing at home against Sunderland should be a relief to the Bolton team after some disastrous away trips.Petrov and Eagles have been playing well in this side.

Young
The fact that he was rested midweek and should be all fresh for the derby makes me feel that he could be the difference between the two sides in terms of fatigue / fitness. Its about time United get back to the coordination between Young and Rooney as we saw in the first few matchdays.

Defenders:

Enrique
Playing at home to Norwich and moving forward will be an additional with all the SC/assists etc

Simpson/Taylor
I would suggest any of the Newcastle defenders as they have been solid since the start.Playing at home to Wigan doesn't seem to provide any threat what so ever.

Luiz
He should be a regular starter as his transition from injury is more or less complete. He is good moving forward at times and does tend to score from outside the box.

Jenkinson
Looks like he has been playing at Right back for a long time. With Sagna suspended,Jenkonson should keep his place and continue moving up at the right flank.

Warnock
At home to wba and part of a good defence makes him a good choice this week.

Goalkeepers:
Krul
Same explanation as Newcastle defenders. They have been solid in defence all throughout.

Szczesny
Playing at home to Stoke who will be tired from their Europa league game later this week.Szczesny has had a safe pair of hands and should be value for money this week.

Given
Playing at home to WBA and AstonVilla are still an unbeaten side.Given has been a great pick for Villa and his presence helps the defence to be on their toes.Expect lots of saves and may be a clean sheet this week.
