Hi all,

For the enquiries about "will we be posting previews for the yahoo fantasy game", we would like to inform that AM's and myself's first priority is to do justice to the blog and for that reason with us both tied up in family and work obligations would want to make sure that we can carry this blog till the end of the season. Right now, with how things stand, it won't be possible for us to write up previews each week so we would try and cover those weeks when it is. Apart from that we will be active like any other fantasy manager at NMA discussing the week ahead.
Thank you guys for your support!

Best of Luck for the new game and season!!!

Firstly i apologize for not being able to post previews for the last 2 matchdays as i have been traveling extensively for work. It feels great to be back and free to watch a matchday without any backlog.

Good news for us managers is that Week 26 is a double matchday where Liverpool and Swansea play each other in a extra game due to the latter playing the Capitol one cup final. So you should barn door players from these 2 teams before their prices go up.

Lets get straight to Week 25 :

Forwards :

1. Ba : Having been rested last week and coming on to play just 1 minute against Reading makes BA a sure starter against his former club. Looking forward to him showing Newcastle why they made a mistake to let him go.

2. Rooney : Having scored 6 goals from his last 5 starts makes him an inform forward going into week 25. Alex will not be risking any of the EPL matches as he doesnt want to let go of the title again. If you got him in at 17.xx its a great barn door and a good pick moving forward.

3. Fletcher : Has been in a good run for some time and Sunderland look like they are on their way up after a poor start to the season. Playing against Reading makes me feel that there are goals in this game from both sides.

Options : Remy : This is a great pick for those wanting to take that risk. QPR play at home vs Norwich and after seeing how harry has brought in alot of players at the cost of some wealthy owners, it does look like they will fight hard to get out of the relegation zone. At 6.xx he is a bargain and definitely one to look out for.

Midfielders :

4. Fellaini : After a few quiet weeks, its all in time when Everton host Aston Villa at Goodison park over the weekend. Looks like a high scoring affair and i dont want to miss out on this one.

5. Walcott : He has been a part of 10 out of the last 12 goals that Arsenal have scored and thats quite a remarkable stat for a midfielder. He does tend to get the striker role or even if he doesnt, he just takes that role on his own will. He is looking a better fantasy asset than Bale this time around.

6. Taarabt : Like i mentioned for Remy above, its a good matchup for QPR and its time they move up on the table. Its the likes of Remy, Taarabt etc who will be on the drivers seat for this run.

7. Michu : I was surprised with Swansea letting go of Graham at this stage of the season without replacing him. This makes Michu a sure forward in their line up, a out of position for him as he is listed as a midfielder. Great asset this week and the double matchday coming up next week.

Option : Joe Cole : Having been rested last week, he should start this week and is a great option. West ham host Swansea who are not the best defenders away from home.

Defenders :

8. Baines : He was due a big score for some time and did that in some style. Having take on the penalty duties for a long time, always made him an asset but with his high price it did keep us managers away from such investment. However its Aston Villa at home and in case you have the money to splash, he has the best fixture.

9. Fabio : He has been in good nick for the last few matchdays and i will be looking at him this week as they host Norwich.

10. Davies : Good form, a double matchday coming up next week and always a threat to score that odd goal makes him a good pick. You should get him in before his value goes further up.

Option : Debuchy : In case you are looking for a filler, look no further that this man who cost around 4 . or else Terry is also available at 5.xx.

Goalkeepers :

11. Howard : Purely on the basis of fixture and form, i got to say Howard is the keeper to have this week. Rest of the fixtures look even.

Option : Lloris : is affordable at around 7.xx and plays away to West Brom. Not an easy fixture but every chance of a good defensive performance by spurs.

Well thats all we have for your this week. I will be free to comment all weekend as im finally free with all work duties. Looking forward to your comments and views.

Have a great weekend all.
Cheers,

Firstly, here's wishing everyone a very happy new year !!

Its been a long wait to this matchday in particular after we got the news of it being a double header for Chelsea and Southampton. For those who have just joint us, let me inform you that there is an extra match this matchday as Chelsea play Southampton at home on Wednesday.

Most of us must have changed our teams a million times in the last week with an overload of Chelsea and Southampton players and it does get tricky here as Benitez is famous for his rotaions. Chelsea have surplus of players for each spot.

Chelsea have had a terrible run in the recent 2 - 3 months. In the last 14 games they have managed just 4 wins, 4 draws and 6 loses. They have lost both of their last 2 home games ( against QPR and Swansea ). However on the plus side, on their day they can score as many goals they like. Just like the 8-0 against Aston Villa and 5-1 against Southampton.

Southampton on the other hand are coming into this match day with 2 draws in the last 2 away matches in the premier league.

Irrespective, more upside here with these two teams playing twice and we shall look at the best options to pick from these teams.

Lets get straight to our best picks this week :

Forwards :

1. BA : Having been rested in the Capital One cup and played only 12 mins, makes Ba a sure starter against Stoke. The question is whether he will get a chance to play against Southampton. Well my opinion is that a good performance against Stoke will make it tough for Benitez to bench him against Southampton. Its a risk worth taking in my opinion.

2. Lambert : I like the first game from Southampton against Aston Villa. This could see alot of goals. Also after seeing Chelsea let in 2 silly goals, it makes it more appealing to take a Southampton forward.

3. Berbatov : This just feels a week where we could see alot of goals for Fulham ( vs Wigan ) at home. He does get some big numbers when he strikes. I would take a punt on him this week.

Options Mata/ Hazard
You have to take your chance with the double header and hope for your picks to be picked for both the games. Mata looks great even though he has played most of the games in this packed schedule. You need to go into this week with the likes of Mata and Hazard as there could be fireworks against Southampton.

Midfielder :

4. Bale : Has to be the pick of the midfielders and if your can afford him, its great.

5. Michu : He has been super since the very beginning and is in great form. Scoring the winner in his last 2 games and if you have had him since the beginning, its good.

6. Lampard : He was rested in the Capital One cup against Swansea and will surely start the game against Stoke. Like Ba he will have to earn his spot against Southampton. If it works out that way, you could be in for a big score with all the penalties etc

7. Fellaini : He is back and had 2 assists in the FA cup game last week end. He is undoubtedly in great form and is great as a fantasy pick. He could easily end up scoring more than the 2 gamers.

Option :
G. Ramirez : He seems to have got rid of his dead leg and looks fit for this matchday. He could be a good differential to have in your team. He is great for Southampton and will do well over the 2 games.

Defenders :

8. Luiz : Pick of the defenders as he is playing a much advanced role in midfield and taking all free kicks for his side. He is a must have for this double header.

9. Ivanovic : Even though Terry seems to have recovered, it should not degrade Ivanovic's place in the side as Cahill will be the obvious one to make it to the bench. Ivanovic does have an eye for goal and im sure he will have his chances. If you can get him, there is nothing like it.

10. Vertonghen : Good matchup and always threatening to score goals makes him one to watch out for. Although he is expensive , its a good pick for those who have picked him at a cheaper price.

Option :
Shaw : Looks like the pick of Southampton defenders. Not too sure of Fonte's injury, we will have to wait till Friday to find out. But Shaw looks good on the left wing and if you are looking for a southampton defender, he could be nailed on.

Goalkeepers :

11. Turnbull : Looks great for the value and of whats in store this matchday. Need to pick him at any cost this week.

Option : Lloris Those of you who have it at a steal price, wouldnt mind holding onto him as he plays against QPR which could be a good one for him.

Well thats all we have in our preview for this double headed. Have a great weekend and do let us know of your team in the COMMENTS section below and our twitter @iFantasyEPL.

Cheers,

Outnumbered?.....I doesn't think so.

A well below par week for most of us the last time out as we all felt the pinch of rotation during the festive period by managers, or for that matter no rotation for Dzeko owners. These write ups are coming thick and fast, which is generally the case this time of year. Hopefully this weekend will fill a bit more in control with things clearer than the midweek matches. The matches after the jump.

Manchester United host Westbrom which could be another goal fest, well rested Arsenal face a patched up Newcastle, Sturdy Stoke face shaky Southampton and lastly Villa have redemption on the cards as they host Wigan.

The Starting XI

Keeper
1. Lindegaard: With DeGea having another shaky performance I feel SAF will give his other "No.1" a go between the posts.
Options: Lloris with his customary mention as a discount. Look for Guzan to bounce back with Wigan coming to town.

Defenders
2. Vidic: Should be restored to the starting XI just like we are doing here.
3. Wilkinson: He is cheap and a part of a strong outfit.
4. Clark: The Aston Villa captain should be amongst the points as he generally is w/o cs also.
Options: Vertonghen/Luiz are held on discount and very viable option to hold. Jones is cheap is dirt and can be an excellent enabler.

Midfielders
5. Bale: If barndoored at 23 or below is well worth holding.
6. Walcott/Cazorla: If the above one was missed out on, then Walcott holds in him alot of upside and is worth the money. Cazorla on discount is excellent.
7. Nolan: Going up against the worst defence in the league is always an option to consider.
8. Sterling: A economical way to be involved in Liverpool and they will surely deploy him after last weeks rest.
Options: Adam should start the match against Southampton is very affordable. Cleverley is a good cheap midfielder with high chances to start.

Forwards
9. Benteke: After two tough outings this one should provide better returns.
10. Walters/Jones: Both were great barndoor options and worth a spot against the Saints.
11. RVP: Leading the United line with utmost confidence and ability not many can match.
Options: Giroud/Podolski are affordable options with a good home matchup. Chicarito is bound to start and good option instead of RVP. Pogre is below 6 and playing home if funds are needed elsewhere.

Alright then, looks like we are set for the weekend.
Its NMA blog cup week also as a heads up so don't take any chances. Go all out.
Good Luck.
I'm writing this with a little over 3 hours left to the deadline as was busy with family & christmas past few days. Any how, no time for small talk so lets get down to the matchups and picks.

Everton vs Wigan should help the toffees score good, Manchester United faces a toothless Newcastle and Arsenal and West ham are not playing any match.

The Starting XI

Keepers:
1. Howard: He has any easy matchup and would probably register a clean sheet.
Option: Lloris is proving to be one of the assests of the season at his 2.09 price and you don't need my advice on what to do with him.

Defenders:
2. Baines: Baines has an opportunity to get back to double figures after not featuring there for a number of weeks.
3. Vertonghen: He's a defender that doesn't depend on clean sheets for points.
4. David Luiz: If he continues in the midfield then there is alot of potential in the charismatic player.
Options: Shorey held at discount is viable. Buttner could be a possibility but thats just based on a hunch I have.

Midfielder:
5. Michu: Great player in great form and best opposition to be facing.
6. Pienaar: Put in an excellent performance last time out and more should be expected.
7. Sterling: Should be back amongst starting eleven and can be a good economical addition.
8. Taarabt: He is the engine of QPR and will look to bounce back with his support.
Options: Any of the three chelsea midfielders barndoored being Lampard,Oscar or Ramires can be a good play. De Guzman if Michu out of budget.

Forwards:
9. Torres: Back in some sort of form and a team supporting it.
10. Dzeko: Has to end up in the starting lineup with Mancini rotating his squad.
11. Berbatov: Hes been quiet for sometime and that probably is raising his odds to have a break out.
Option: Jelavic has the easy match on paper so could work out.

Ok.
Short and Straight.
Hope it helps.
Good Luck,
Rohit.

Back after a long break from writing an article here and looking forward to a busy Christmas period for us fantasy managers as matchdays come by rather quickly.

It was good to see QPR register their first win of the season, hopefully it should get them on track from here on. Cazorla once again proved his talent with a hatrick against Reading. Liverpool clearly seem to be struggling to keep up with the top.

Looking forward to Week 18, lets get to the best matchups :

Man City vs Reading
Newcastle vs QPR
Swansea vs Man Utd
Chelsea vs Aston Villa
Wigan vs Arsenal

Forwards :

1. Aguero : Clear favorite to start amongst all 4 city forwards and is slowly gaining momentum with his form. He seems to be benefiting from improvement in Silva's form in midfield and surely he will be up there where goals are concerned come the end of the season. The price is just right to get him in.

2. Ba : Great matchup for Newcastle and Ba seems to be in great form. On the other hand QPR have yet to win away from home and its very unlikely that they will win two in a row. Ba seems to be a top pick this week.

3. Mata : Chelsea have found their scoring form under Benitez and Mata/Torres have been on the score sheet a couple of times since his arrival. Mata seems to be involved in most of the play where Chelsea are concerned and seems to be a more productive pick as compared to Torres.

Option :
Tevez : Its tough to ignore Man City's fixture at home against Reading who let in 5 goals against Arsenal last week. It looks like a Aguero/ Tevez partnership and in case you want to be allin on City, Tevez could be a good pick.

Midfielders :

4. Silva : As i mentioned above, Silva has shown tremendous improvement in his game since the start of the season and no doubt he will be instrumental in most of City's creativity from here on. I would consider him as a must have this week.

5. Cazorla : Season long pick for me.

6. Taarabt : It was about time he exploded and after Harry took over it was more obvious that one man who would benefit would be Taarabt. His talent surprises us all the time and as a fantasy manager i would always look to make place for a player like him in my side.

7. Walcott : Playing out of position and as a striker makes him a good differential going forward. With Negotiations still going on regarding his contract, im sure Wenger will ensure he gets as many starts so that he remains content.

Options :
Yaya Toure : Heavy on Man City this week as i feel they are going to explode against Reading and just ensuring you have all the weapons needed for that explosion.

Defenders :

8. Vidic : Given his value and return from injury, he has to be in your team as Man utd prepare to strengthen their defense. At 4.37 he is a steal in my opinion.

9. Vertonghen : Having come off a great weekend where he scored and won his team the game, he has to be in your lineup. He does tend to score and move up the field which is great for a defender.

10. Ivanovic : He is back in contention in our picks after getting on the scoresheet in midweek. He started the season with a bang and scored big numbers in that run. We do hope for similar performance against Aston Villa

Option :
Nastasic : Of the Man City defenders he seems to have his place nailed on and preferred over the likes of Lescott. He is reasonably priced at around 8 and has a great chance of a clean sheet.

Goalkeepers :

11. Hart : At 13.32 he is reasonably priced and has a great chance for a clean sheet against Reading. Incase you have spare funds, it would be a good idea to invest in Hart.

Option :
Lloris : Good matchup and playing at home make him a good pick this week. Most of you who have him at a heavy discount would be happy with his fixture.

Well thats about it for this week. Lots of games coming up between now and the end of the month, nothing better to ask for really.

Hope you all have a great weekend. Looking forward to the comments section below.

Cheers
Hello everyone, I'm just going to start by saying that when it comes to double gamers its always safer to go with them rather than single gamers as they have a chance to redeem themselves even if they screw up in one match just like this last week.....Or I could be totally wrong as the Sunderland vs Reading match hasn't taken place yet. Anyway moving on from there we are back with everyone playing a single match with two teams totally absent and those being Southampton and Chelsea with the latter in japan playing in the club world cup. Lets see what we have instore for this weekend.

The games of interest this week are Norwich vs Wigan, Man Utd. vs Sunderland, Liverpool vs AstonVilla and Reading vs Arsenal. So a host of good games to pick players from and the ones not mentioned also have alot of potential. Lots to dissect and pick from this week.

The Starting XI

Keeper:
1. Bunn: The Norwich keeper is below the 2 mil mark making him a great choice this week playing home to wigan. A great Bargain.
Options: Lloris again at a discount is a good option with a winnable home game to play in.

Defenders:
2. Bassong: He has been the root of good Norwich performances and surprisingly amongst goals being scored, an excellent combination.
3. Rafael: Although this season Utd. aren't amongst the clean sheets Rafael's attacking prowess gives him the edge with terrible form sufferers Sunderland coming to Old trafford.
4. Vertonghen: Has been very consistent with or without clean sheets being registered and will most probably return his investment.
Options: Vidic is a bargain but keep an eye on him to see if he makes the starting lineup. Garrido is a cheaper option if bassongs out of reach. Having Shorey on discount is a privilege.

Midfielders:
5. Cazorla: He doesn't stay quite for too many matches and has the perfect opposition to make his points.
6. Michu: You can't ignore this man, especially with the devastating form he is in. He' fixture proof right now.
7. Sterling: A great performance last time out and an even better opportunity waiting this week.
8. Ashley Young: Young has given two decent performances but was just outside double figure in both. This could be a good outing for him.
Options: Taarabt has been a disappointment off late and if QPR are to register their first win this guy need to put in a good one. Fellaini held on discount can be maintained.

Forwards:
9. Snodgrass: A very pivotal player for the canaries and gets enough big number games to make him a must have for this weekend.
10. Rooney: Much more value for money than RVP and should remain the same story.
11. Suarez: Back from suspension to lead the line for Pool and highest chances to get on the score sheet this weekend.
Options: Defoe scored negative and that has made him affordable. Aguero also cheap for his standards can be in for a good game. RVP only if you prefer him instead of Rooney.

On a personal note:
I'm holding Torres on a discount and taking a 0 for this week. Most might not agree with that decision and in fact I would agree with them if my life depended on scoring big this fantasy weekend..but thankfully it doesn't and even if a score low...I'll survive the weekend. For me Passion for the this game has come from watching certain players over the years that have made the love for this game immense....Torres is one such player for me. I had a conversation with someone during this week who stated that Torres and RVP don't belong in the same sentence with Torres having scored 11 meaningless goals all season and RVP scoring 14 all important all decisive goals. Well I agree with that because for me RVP has no meaning. For me Torres is a great player who made me even more passionate about this sport and I'm not going to start looking him down if he's gotten run down in form. I will support him regardless. He doesn't compare to anyone in my opinion and thats exactly what it is...an opinion, so don't take offence to it. So give respect to everyone's opinion as that is formed through their own experiences through time....they are not always suppose to be based on facts and figures...but on emotions.

Cheers!
Have a good one.
Another weekend of fantasy dawns upon us bringing with it two mediocre fantasy teams playing two matches. Those being Sunderland and Reading. The choice of going for a single gamer is a bit tougher than normal as there are no "great match ups" to look out for. Anyways, we will try and work out the best strategy with what we have and aim for a good score. Lets take a deeper look at the games.

Southampton host Reading and have a decent momentum going into this fixture, Swansea play Norwich who are mirror opposite of their home form. Ofcourse with the shortages of out right good match ups Reading and Sunderland are worth taking a deep look at.

The Starting XI

Keepers:
1. Mignolet: With two home matches to look forward to things cant turn out terrible for the Sunderland keeper.
Option: Federici is the cheaper and much much riskier option. Aston Villa has improved on their home form and Guzan could be a good choice. Lloris on the 2.09 discount is as Gold as it gets.

Defenders:
2. Shorey: Generally a necessary choice for fantasy and even further more this week with the double header.
3. Morrison: He's been very consistent for reading over the past 5 games without clean sheets coming thier way. He has averaged 11 points in the last 3 games and benefitting from the shorey set pc prowess.
4. Cuellar: A surprising inclusion as he and fanatsy points generally don't go hand in hand although its much a different story this season. Worth his hefty price this week.
Option: Romeu at 5.09 is a good investment playing in the midfield. Bardsley is a cheap way into Sunderland but don't have hopes high.

Midfielders:
5. Adam Johnson: I'm a fan of his ability regardless and with the double header he's a no brainer for me.
6. McAnuff: Very creative in the midfield is generally at the delivery end of crosses and assists.
7. Michu: He just can't stop scoring and the Norwich defence are going to add fuel to the fire.
8. Robson-Kanu: A very complete midfielder and getting on the scoresheet too.
9. Sessegnon/Larrson: These two are question marks. Larsson is very consistent about his average so expect him to score between 11-13 points guaranteed, on the other hand Sessegnon can end up scoring either a 5 or a 25....the choice is yours. Risk vs Reward.
Options: Cazorla on discount should not be fiddled with. Lallana should be in double figures this week.

Forwards:
10. Le Fondre: He will start upfront for Reading in both matches and is marginally a must have.
11. Lambert: I like his prospects this week with him just below boiling point for the last few matches. He should blow the lid with a 20+ performance.
Options: Wickham/Fletcher is basically all depending on the injury update we need from the Sunderland camp. If we have any solid news moving in that direction is the way to go. Berbatov is a good option with Newcastle coming to town.

So as you see, I think this week is best suited for a 3-5-2 formation, but feel free to experiment with what you presume is the most comfortable lineup for you. Best of luck for the NMA blog cup!.
There isnt any thing better than midweek matchdays as they just make the week look so much smaller. Just 2 days seperate Week 14 and 15, leaving us to make changes quickly and get all geared for another challenging week ahead of us.

Without wasting much time, lets get straight to the easy matchups and picks for week 15 :

Easy Matchups :

Liverpool vs Southampton
Arsenal vs Swansea
Reading vs Manchester United

Forwards :

1. Suarez : Great matchup, good form, no rotation risk are obvious reasons to have him in your team. With Rvp no returning his value in this reason, its a good move to get Suarez in. No threat for his spot in the team and dangerous against any opposition are reasons for which i may look at him for a longer period of time. However, with 4 yellows he is just one away from a one match suspension.

2. Giroud : I tried to analyse his inconsistent performances and came to a conclusion that he only does well when he plays along side Walcott. No doubt Giroud is a good finisher from crosses and only when he has Walcott delivering those to him , he has look threatening. Arsenal have a good run and im sure he will have his chances.

3.Benteke : Looks threatening even though he plays in an average performing side. With this week away to QPR who have been struggling this season , he should make the most of it. Harry will take time to sort things out and i wont expect changes overnight.

Option :
P. Cisse : He has been really off this season and doesnt look anything closer to last years amazing start to his league campaign. However, after seeing him score last week , i do see more of an upside than the other way as i feel he can only get better. At a price tag of 10 before barn door, he did look like a good punt.

Midfielders :

4.Bale : The guy is just on another level and i dont see anyone else get closer to where he is right now. Just a must have in your team against any opposition.

5. Walcott : Even though Arsenal dont have his contract talks sorted, he has been doing well on the pitch apart from his regular injuries. With Arsenals easy run coming up, Walcott looks like a great pick to have with Wenger making him play a more advanced role along side Giroud.

6. Sterling : Still very affordable at 6.00 , he is a great pick for this week no doubt. Plays a very attacking role and his coordination with Suarez is great. Both assist each other well and is a major factor for why Liverpool are doing well enough to climb up the ladder.

7. Fellaini : He countinues to surprise us week in week out. After watching him for so many seasons, he has just been a different product this year and is just becoming a must have in your team.Yes i know they are playing Man City, but he continues to be a threat.

Option :
Taarabt : An under rated player and I still feel is yet to take off in this campaign. With Harry , there should be a great upside to him for sure. Presently he is trying to do alot but its not working for him, but im sure a good performance is around the corner.

Defenders :
8. Enrique : Never though i would ever see Enrique play where he is presently but Rodger sees things very differently and why not. With a defender playing such an advanced role and a good matchup for a clean sheet, no doubt he is a great pick for this week.

9. Azpilicueta : With Benitez one thing is for sure, Chelsea have looked much better defensively and yet to concede a goal under him. Yeah i know its too early. Azpilicueta seems to be a sure starter in the right back spot and should continue to do well.

10. Gibbs : Looks set to start this week and having a good run of games coming up, its time to get in an arsenal defender.

Option :
Nelsen : Good option to have this week when they take on Aston Villa at home. He seems to get lots of shots blocked etc

Goal keepers :

11. Mignolet : Coming off a clean sheet and playing Norwich is a good matchup for him. He shall continue to be a good pick as he is approaching a double matchday next week.

Option : Lloris : Its paid off well for those who got him in for 2.00. With Avb going with him for the last 4 games, this could continue to be a good run of games for him and with his cheap price tag, it does allow you to spend elsewhere.

Well thats all we have for you this week, have a great week end and continue to chat in the section below.

Cheers
Hello all, haven't really gotten out of the hang over of last weekend and this midweek is upon us. Caught up in my work was not able to post anything with a hectic monday keeping me away from the computer. Anyway the week went off well for me as I entered the below 1500 spot this week. Now just need the momentum to push me in the 1000's. Matchups look very interesting and have opportunities to score every where, tricky part is knowing who could sit out the mid week or not be in for a full 90. lets get on with it.

ManCity go to Wigan hoping to get back to winning ways, United vs Westham is also a good match only with rotation risk marring the perfection, Chelsea host the a London Derby and Benitez will push for his first win as a Chelsea manager and Southampton will have Norwich home and a high chance of making in three wins on a trot.

The Starting XI

Keepers:
1. Mignolet: - He had a howler last weekend and we all know its just an off day....things will surely be back on with QPR visiting.
Option: Lloris is starting to make the number one spot on his own and is still cheap on the list.

Defenders:
2. Shorey: First spot on the defenders and a must have with the fire he is on.
3. Azpilicueta: He will be the preferred RB in the Benitez back four and proved to be a fantasy points generator too.
4. Shotton: Cheap and a part of a very strong defensive setup.
Options: Fabio is back as a filler if money is required elsewhere. Rafael could finally show up this week though he has been under performing. Vertonghen is a good as long as you have him on a discount.

Midfielders:
5. Sessegnon: The guy loves to shoot and we love to see him do so...as long as he's a part of our team, so make it happen.
6. Lallana: Arguably the most consistent underrated midfielder out there. Wont be underrated anymore.
7. Silva: Could have a good run against wigan with a much easier matchup than last time out.
8. Fellaini: Back from suspension and facing Arsenal who are not know for their set piece defence.
Options: Ramirez is the cheap option if lallana is being out priced. Michu is generally not having more than one off game in three so odds are with him. Oscar is a good cheap option.

Forwards:
9. Tevez: Rested and ready to do his stuff. Surely starting which is a big relief with no doubts about being rested or not.
10. Defoe: He was back doing what he does best and is the only option for Spurs. Great situation again.
11. RVP/Rooney: Well this is the one I have no clue about and will probably make me go for an option rather than one of these. Both played the 90 last match, One coming off and injury and the other playing 90 of the last three to four matches. Both might start or one might not...its a pure toss up.
Options: Mata is going to be pivotal for chelsea in the derby and he's already shown twice in London derby's this season. Lambert should have a great game against norwich with the good form continuing.

Good Luck to all.
Rohit.
Sometimes things are just that simple. Tevez and Suarez proved it last week, that good matchups at home is just the perfect combination to look for and comparing anything against that is just pulling your odds down. So keeping in with that theme in mind will help us have a very clear cut vision of what is awaiting our teams this fantasy weekend. Lets go over the games.

United vs QPR is exactly what we want to see in the perfect matchup of the weekend for fantasy managers followed by Totenham vs West Ham. What follows is still very inviting with Everton hosting Norwich who are winless away from home, Wigan vs Reading which seems to be promising goals and my solitary away recommendation Arsenal travelling to Villa.

The Starting XI

Goalkeepers:
1. Howard: Norwich have turned up their home form but away they have been dismal scoring only 3 goals in 6 games. Everton are unbeaten at home and strong contenders for a CS.
Options: Lloris is a mere 2 mil worth so even if he ends up not playing he's giving you the money leverage and if he starts its the best situation possible. DeGea is the premium buy with guaranteed returns.

Defenders:
2. Shorey: 15 Points!!!..without a clean sheet, 9 successful crosses and an assist.....nuff said!.
3. Vertonghen: Great matchups, great potential and a knack of getting the SOTs.
4. Smalling: Cheap and a part of United back 4. Great Value play.
Options: Wilkinson is well below 5 mil and has a high chance of getting a cs as Stoke are back home. Baines is the premium play in defenders for the week with a mouthwatering matchup.

Midfielders:
5. Cazorla: He's been very consistent is hands down this season's....season Keeper.
6. Valencia: Should be able to get into double figures points easily this week.
7. Adam Johnson: Has been very consistent in the last 3 matchups regardless of opposition and his form is definitely on the way up.
8. Sterling: Is a great value play if you need funds deputed else were..which is a very likely possibility how this weeks feeling as a write this article, especially considering my next recommendation.
Options: Bale is the premium play for the midfielders this week and again has a great matchup to look forward to. Michu if held on discount should not be fiddled with. Wilshire is coming of a goal scoring outing during the midweek champions league match and is available for 3 mil. <strike>Ben Arfa: Coming up against the most leaky defence of the league can only bode well for this magical midfielder. </strike> (Injury Doubt)*Ruled out for the weekend.* Option instead of HBA is Hitzlsperger at same price as HBA discount.

Forwards:
9. RVP: The premium buy and the must have this week. Of all the premium buys available to you this week he has to be the first one to be considered when spending the big bucks. Its feeling almost impossible to consider leaving him out. Hopefully the saturday price change makes him a bit easier on the pocket.
10. Defoe: Will be back as the lone striker and playing his old club. Should be a profitable investment.
11. Giroud/Podolski: Depends on how your funds situation works out...more money go for Giroud...less money go for Podolski...both in decent form.
Options: Kone can produce good numbers at home as he faces reading. Tevez/Suarez would be held on discount by lots...if thats the case keep it so. Jelavic will be up top alone for everton with Fellaini suspended, that might work in his favour.

Well, Clearly there will be one, or if you can stretch it... two, heavy investments in your team. What you need to see is the best combination possible with those investments. The premium player most potential to least is as follows:
RVP > BALE > BAINES > DEGEA.
clearly,
FWD > MID > DEF > KEEP.
so pick wisely and lastly, don't forget to have some fun.!

Midweek International friendlies, don't you just love them. I don't read the scores but I do go over starting lineups and subs made, minutes played during the matches with the fantasy implications in mind. Fantasy wise my team isn't putting up great numbers but performing solidly enough to maintain my below 3400 spot. What I need is a blockbuster week to push my self into the 2000s'. So after sorting it all out in my head heres how I think the weekend will pan out...or at least I hope it will. On to the match ups.

The Matchups of utter fantasy attention are the two clubs from Manchester City vs Aston Villa, along with Liverpool vs Wigan, Fulham vs Sunderland, Newcastle vs Swansea and Reading vs Everton giving us alot of option to mull over.

The Starting XI

Keeper:
1. Jussi: This guy is just on fire. He has been putting up unbelievable numbers against the toughest opposition and to think that some of the managers have him at below 4 is enviable. He's a great play at home to week travelling opposition.
Option: Krul is just one goal shy of a clean sheet since 4 weeks and I hope that is no more the case...in a positive way.

Defenders:
2. Shorey: Shorey has made the LB spot his own in the Reading defence and is swinging in crosses left right and centre. He is taking all of the set pcs for his club which is leading to alot of successful crosses and corners won. Regardless of clean sheet potential he should start for your team.
3. Maicon: Came on in the second half for a brief cameo and looked like he was really up for it. showed pass and willingness to put in those balls in the 30 yard box with his crossing ability. He is the only hope for any fantasy potential in the City back line. Keep an eye out for his starting XI conformation.
4. Reither: Fulham's Reither is as good as he gets for the value he is available for right now. A strong home matchup gives him a lot of upside this weekend even without the low price benefit.
Options: Santon has been Newcastle's best performing defender and been quite consistent with his number touching 7.5 points or more 3 times in the last 4 without any clean sheets being involved, a good option this week. Wisdom is the cheapest way to get into the Liverpool defence and home to Wigan is quite favourable.

Midfielders:
5. Fellaini: With his new found attacking threat this season, he has helped Everton achieve new heights and will continue to do so as form seems very ripe right now.
6. Ben Arfa: Was heavily involved in the last weekends match and easily feels the hub of Newcastle's creativity, should have a great game.
7. Sterling: He plays alongside Suarez and has lighting quick feet. If these guys click together he could be involved either with a goal or minimum the one creating it, and he's dirt cheap.
8. Lallana: A very consistent performer in the fantasy world and is highly unlikely to put up a "bad score" for your team regardless of who he's facing, although in this case it is QPR.
Options: Nolan either gives a goal or a dud, this season its been mostly goals even though I think he's a tad bit expensive. Silva was back in the frame for City and was looking his old self with incisive passing, an eye for a SOT and should do better this weekend.

Forwards:
9. Berbatov: The Man of the moment for Fulham. Its like we have travelled back in time during his days at spurs. He's a threat on the pitch and is letting his footballing do the talking. Must have in all your lineups.
10. Tevez: With Aguero traveling all the way to Saudi Arabia and playing a full 90 on wednesday night I highly doubt he'll get another full 90. HELLO Tevez, rested during the week all fresh to annihilate Villa.
11. Saurez: Although He's expensive, He's in form and he's facing Wigan at home. Go For him.
Options: Jelavic is benefitting from the improved Everton attack this term and should follow up on the goal he scored last weekend. RVP hit the woodwork twice last weekend and will try to inch those shot in to make the few that own him a bit more happier about their investment, but if you have to spend go for Suarez. *<strike>Giroud has been in bright form and heading into a potentially high scoring derby</strike>(injury doubt). Consider Chicarito as a good option with Ferguson confirming his starting status.*UPDATED.

Ok now that feels like alot of goals will be scored this weekend for some reason as I was writing few of those names. Hopefully we'll be amongst them and best of luck for those involved in the NMA blog cup this weekend.
Cheers.!!

Been watching all EPL, Champions league and Europa League games this week and must admit its non stop entertainment for us fans irrespective of who we support.

Week 11 is right upon us after a week where we saw Man City, City, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton drop points. It saw Man Utd taking top spot as a result. Who would have expected the likes of Norwich, Wigan, Aston Villa and West Ham to have a clean sheet over the weekend.

Lets get to Week 11 picks :

Easy Matchups :

Everton vs Sunderland
Stoke vs Qpr
Aston Villa vs Man Utd
Newcastle vs West Ham

Forwards :

1. Rooney : For those who are unable to get in Rvp due to his high price tag, Rooney is a good bet for the easy run of games Man Utd have in the coming weeks. After having taken over the penalty duties and creating as well as scoring, makes him a good pick..

2. Rvp : Top striker to have in your team and he continues to be considered a "fantasy God". Many doubted his move to Man utd and said that his best is behind him after his 30+ goals last season for Arsenal. But i do see him going way past those figures this year. 11 goals in all competitions already and we are still in November.

3. Jelavic : There is something about Everton that just makes them look strong at home. They have the highest shots on goal in all the leagues around Europe and thats a great stat. With the likes of Fellaini and Pienaar supporting well from midfield. Its gives Jelavic an edge over other forwards.

Option :
Crouch : Just gets past Ba due to the latter not being fully fit. Pardew has said the Ba has a good chance to make it for the week end. But Stoke have been great at home and having to host Qpr this week end makes this an exciting prospect. I do see some fireworks in that game.

Midfielders :

4. Fellaini : Man in form, great use of his height and playing upfront just behind Jelavic makes him a great prospect for the weekend. He is on 4 yellow cards, just 1 away from suspension but a great pick for this week.

5. Cazorla : He just stands out in this Arsenal team and its a pleasure to watch him play. Having scored in both of his outings, he is in good form.

6. Morrison : Was unable to play last week as he injured himself but is fit to face Wigan this weekend. For those looking for a differential, he could be a good option.

7. Ben Arfa : He has not been in double digits for the last 7 weeks which is not what we expect from a player of his caliber. However, this just seems to be the week where Newcastle pick themselves up and do not let the likes of Everton move ahead of them.

Option :
H.Robson- Kanu : Another differential pick worth a look this week as Reading host Norwich. He has been a great addition to Reading's team this year and with 2 goals already he is worth a look.

G. Ramirez : Just adding another option, G . Ramirez is back from injury and its a good time to have a look at picking him as they face Swansea at home.

Defenders :

8. Rafael : Having rested during midweek, he seems to be a good pick over the next month or so as Man utd seem to be having a great run of fixtures. He seems to be doing week in attack as well and adds alot of points to his output.

9. Cameron : Seems to be the pick of Stoke defenders and he does return more than his value every time you pick him. I would recommend him for this week as Qpr do look week from on their left defensive side.

10. S. Taylor : He seems to be getting back to full flow in a slow manner but no doubt he is a quality defender. With an affordable price tag, he is worth a look at home against West Ham.

Option :
Bertrand : With A. Cole injured and no update as yet on his return, one has to keep an eye on Bertrand who could well replace him over the weekend. We shall keep you updated about this one. He is a good enabler as well.

Goalkeeper :

11. Begovic : Seems to be the pick of the keepers this week as they face Qpr at home. Having a great record at home, they seem to be a strong unit at the Britannia.

Option :
Howard : Another cheap option this week is Howard. As explained above regarding Evertons performances both in offense and defense have been great this season. Well worth a look against Sunderland who seem to have run out of ideas upfront.

Well that all we have this week. Do let us know how your team is shaping up, will be glad to add to it.

Cheers,
Hello all, I'm taking up writing duties from AM this weekend so he could concentrate one of his wavering teams that got off to blistering starts but has gone into stagnation. As we go into week 10 with almost 1/4th of the season over your ranks would be settling and not feeling more like a crazy roller coaster ride. Now its time to dig deep into your fantasy manager brains and start climbing those ranks. Now ranks will represent quality rather than flukes so if your a good manager you would surely move up. Another all important Capital One Cup round midway through with the teams testing their depth in ranks and mostly resting their first team squad. Here's what we have lined up for the weekend.

The games that should have all your concentration and be the spine of your fantasy teams are Totenham vs Wigan, Swansea vs Chelsea and with little less concentration West Ham vs Man City and WestBrom vs Southampton.

The Starting XI

Keeper:
1. Cech: The Chelsea stopper has been the highest points scorer along with the highest average(barring the one match Lloris) in the game till now. Chelsea have been shipping in the goals but with that said cech is getting to save more shots too which is actually helping him perform better in fantasy terms. With the Swans averaging 5.2 shots per game he could have a decent outing.
Option: Lloris/Friedel would be my number 1 choice if only the question of who would start didn't hang on their heads. Fantasy wise Friedel is quite simply a stinker with a total of just 13 points from 8 games, Lloris has scored 3 points more in a single game...Hopefully the fantasy Gods will be kind on us and give a clear indication of who starts.

Defenders:
2. Vertonghen: One player who will start for sure and is probably in for a biggy. Has to be in your team.
3. Ivanovic: With him serving his ban during the well timed COC he should be back in the lineups as the red card even helped him become a bit more affordable under 10. Win win.
4. Nastasic: The cheapest way into City's defence although I'm not quite 100% about their capabilities...postive is that they are playing West ham so its not really far fetched to hope for a Clean sheet.
Options: David Luiz is the only chelsea defender yet to score in the league. He does have a lot of attacking threat and tends to get his opportunities on free kicks as well. One of the two chelsea defenders is a good idea. Riether back home and strong should be a better performance. Nelsen has a very good average for his value so could be a good buy just for 6.

Midfielders:
5. Cazorla: He's been off the the steam and still giving his moneys worth. Will probably up his game against big guns United.
6. Michu: If you have him at 5.67 or lower you have in your hands a midfielder playing as a lone striker. He could have been massive last week had he beaten Hart even once of the two clear one on one chances. No point taking him out whoever the opponent. At full price look else where.
7. Taarabt: has the skills to match the best...but not the consistency though with the matchup on hand he has a lot of upside. Should do well against a leaky reading defence.
8. Bale: He hasn't scored less than 15 points in his last 5 starts touching 20 on two occasions. The only downside to him is his price. So if you can shell it out there's no better place to put your money than on him.
Options: Morrison has been very lively under clarke and amongst the points all season. A good opportunity this weekend to follow suite. Lallana finally gave a bad week which puts him right back up there to have a good one....you know how odds work, he's very consistent and a <strike>good</strike> great bet, Adam Johnson is my punt of the week with him playing 89 mins for Sunderland last week, he now has a home game against mediocre opponents to show what he used to do in City, when he came off the bench.

Strikers:
9. Mata: The most in form player in the league averaging 23.5 points in the last 4 matches. Away to Swansea?...Well he has had his best games away to Arsenal and to Totenham, so all I see is Gold even at his current price.
10. Defoe: He has been working overtime for Spurs so was bound to have an off game, although in the last game he took his customary "shoot when I touch the ball" attitude most were off target. Look for that to change and improve.
11. Tevez: The only consistent City player in my opinion. Giving his 100% and reaping the benefits with good performances. Hard to look beyond him when it comes to city players.
Options: Lukaku has done well every time he's started or come off the bench for Westbrom which should lead Clarke to believe that he should lead from the front so probably will. Fletcher has gone off the boil since his single shot single goal performances and I presume will be back up there with Aston Villa coming to town. RVP vs Old Club.....we know how these things pan out don't we.

So, I think we have a good idea of what we could expect out of this weekend. There is a lot of potential for 100+ scores and I think it would be a high scoring affair this time around. Good luck to all.

Cheers,
Rohit.

Seems like a long break, doesn't it ? There isn't any reason to like these international breaks and its great to be nearing a matchday, an EPL matchday. Its week 8, one-fifth of the season mark, and its time to step up as a fantasy manager.

Good thing about a break is it breaks the momentum in case you have not been doing well and gives you lots of time to reconsider your strategy moving forward. There have been many points that ones got to learn from the way this season has started.

Week 8 starts with a London derby and has some nice fixtures which you could easily call one sided. The pick of the lot are :

Norwich vs Arsenal
Liverpool vs Reading
Man Utd vs Stoke
QPR vs Everton

Forwards :

1. Suarez :
I would consider Suarez as a must have specially when they host Reading. There is no doubt that he can explode when given the opportunities and this Liverpool side is improving every week. Their understanding of other players is improving and they are starting to play as a team.

2. Jelavic
Been in great form since returning from injury and is a good option for their matchup against QPR who are clearly struggling to stop getting scored against.

3. Giroud
His time on the bench seems to be over and with his performance last match day and also for France in midweek, he will be handed the front role for Arsenal in the coming few matchdays. Still affordable and with Arsenal to face Norwich and QPR in the next 2 weeks ill suggest you bring him in.

Options : Berbatov
Great option to have for any week. He has been super for Fulham and its great to see him showing his class playing for a smaller clubs, a scenario which seems to bring the best out of him. He is a great fantasy asset and with Fulham entering a easy run of fixtures, he must be considered. Fulham's next 6 fixtures are Aston Villa , Reading, Everton. Arsenal, Sunderland and Stoke.

Midfielders :

4. Cazorla
He is featured in all our previews till date and how on earth can you not mention this guy. Great player with some great matchups over the next 2 weeks.

5. Michu
You may start to dislike him and every week seems to be "the last ". However im one of those who has some patience and hoping it pays off. I would give him this week to show some results before pressing the panic button. With Swansea playing Man City next week, i would give him a run this week before thinking of a suitable replacement.

6. Nolan
He does seem to be the differential at home. He provides lots of opportunities and if he gets it right , he could put you ahead of who are competing against.

7. Taarabt
Having watched him play the last 2 weeks , his performances have been one of the best for any midfielder in this league. Some great individual skills , 2 goals in the last 2 games and back with confidence makes him a good pick for this week. QPR need to move up and he will be key to their season.

Option : Kagawa
Playing behind the strikers in the new diamond formation Alex is trying to experiment with , makes Kagawa a good option to have when Utd play Stoke at home.

Defenders :

8. Baines
Incase you have the funds to get an expensive defender, Baines has to be the pick of them as he seems to be getting his chances in offense. Been handed the penalty kick duty as we saw in Week 7, he will be a good asset to have.

9. Vermaelen
Arsenal seem to have a good run of matches and it would be necessary to have one of their defenders. Vermaelen has had a slow start but with the easy matchups it could be a good opportunity for him to step up.

10. Rafael
Averaging just under 10 pts per game and already scored 2 goals are some good stats for a defender. In case you feel Ivanovic has a tough matchup against Spurs, Rafael could be a good option to get in.

Option :Ivanovic
He has been the pick of the players in the first 7 matchdays and is undoubtedly the differential for those who find themselves on top of the table. Irrespective of any opposition, i would not risk not having him in my side.

( Note Terry has accepted his 4 match ban and will miss games against Spurs, Manchester United, Swansea and Capital One cup tie against Manchester United )

Goalkeepers :

11. Reina
Still cheap and a good matchup for Reina. He does not produce big numbers but is a safe bet this week and is a could provide good returns on your investment.

Option : Mannone
Has been great for Arsenal in the absence of Szczesny and seems to be a great option for the coming few weeks. With Szezesny still sidelined due to injury, it makes Mannone a good option to consider.

Well thats all for our top 15 picks for Week 8 and it seems to be a great matchday coming up. Its good to be back watching some live EPL games and lets hope we all fantasy managers have a great weekend.

You may feel free to discuss in the comments section below. Ill be there to chip in with my thoughts.

Have a great weekend.

Coming off a very high scoring week 6 where we saw some big numbers from forwards like Suarez, Jelavic, Ba, Crouch etc who have been knocking on the door for a few weeks and it was about time they all got themselves on the scoresheet. It does confirm the fact that "put your money forward" , a rule, which we have been stressing on from day 1.

Week 7 is no less of excitement as there are around 8-9 one sided fixtures and which could all feature in our easy match ups. Options are plenty and this is where differentials will lead you ahead.

Lets get straight to the best 15 picks along with the easy matchups :

Chelsea vs Norwich
Man City vs Sunderland
Swansea vs Reading
Wba vs Qpr
Wigan vs Everton
West Ham vs Arsenal
Tottenham vs Aston Villa

Forwards :

1. Mata :
Man in form and playing in a central role , just behind Torres, are key factors why Mata should considered as a top pick this week. He is doing exactly what we all expected Hazard to do before this season kicked off. I would pay the price tag to bring him in my line up.In case you don't want to spend big on him, Hazard is an alternative pick here.

2. Tevez
Having seen him sit out in the champions league game against Dortmund, makes him a sure starter for the weekend clash against Sunderland. He is involved with everything City do in the offensive side of the game. We have seen many fantasy managers shift to Aguero , but the focus is back to Tevez after being rested in midweek.

3. Jelavic
Back from injury and 2 goals last week makes Jelavic a good pick against Wigan. Everton have been playing some great football and this will only add to Jelavic's output.

Option :
Lambert :
He value has been appreciating every week and he has been performing well every alternate week. Looking at the series of performance, it suggests he is due a big game against Fulham. He is in great touch and a lineup in more secured with him in it.

Midfielders :

4 Bale
Spurs are getting into shape and their result against Man Utd proves that they are serious contenders this season. Bale has finally got to some good form which he lacked in first 4 weeks. He is worth the investment and consistent in his output.

5. Michu
Great matchup to get back to where he started. He has been off lately but there is no doubt that he is a quality player and is capable of a good performance over the weekend.

6. G. Ramirez
Pick of the southampton midfielders and playing behind Lambert makes him a great differential for this week. Coming of a goal should boost his confidence and will be key to their season. No doubt on his price tag Southampton paid in the summer, he is a great investment for them.

7. D. Silva
He has been a serious contender for our picks in the last 2 weeks as his form has been on the upward after signing a new contract. He looks tired in the first few games but now is slowly getting into the "must have" category. City have a decent run coming up and its a good time to consider the last season's "season keeper".

Option :
Morrison
West Brom have been super at home, yet to let in a goal at home this season. In offense there have been many goals they have scored and Morrison has been key to their success this season. Another differential pick to consider.

Defenders :

8. Ivanovic
Chelsea have the easiest fixture this week and without doubt their defense will be a great investment. Ivanovic has been is good form since the start even though he didnt show up against Arsenal. Good investment for a defender this week.

9. Vertonghen
Most of us wanted to be part of his first goal of the season and who would have thought it would come against Man Utd. There were many managers who lost patience with him but without a doubt he is a must have for this week.

10. Rangel
Its a good matchup for Swansea and they will have their work cut out for this one. Reading at home is a blessing for them specially when they have been poor in the last 2 fixtures starting from a hammering from Everton. He did provide lot of opportunity from the right flank and gets close to scoring every now and then.

Options :
Chico : Similar reasons as stated for Rangel and he is back from his ban. We all would like him to get back to where he started this season. His price is affordable incase you cant get any of the above picks.

Keepers :

11. Cech
Nothing like playing the weakest team out there at home. Chelsea have let is some poor goals but this week they seem to have the best chance for a clean sheet.

Options :
Foster : West Brom have yet to let in a goal at home and those are great stats to showcase a strong defensive unit. Foster has been super and will have lots to offer when they take on QPR at home.

Thats the best 15 picks we have for this week. Do let us know how your team is shaping up in the comments section below.

Having got in all the injury updates from the Capital One cup played in midweek, there isn't much damage which is good going into Week 6. However the most concerning news for most managers was the fact that Tevez played the full 120 mins including extra time against Aston Villa in midweek. That doesn't make him any favorable specially with Aguero back and having Dzeko rested.

On the positive side, we saw the likes of Michu, Torres, Giroud, Sahin, Cleverley, Cisse etc get on the score sheet which is good for the weeks to come.

We have a cracker of a weekend coming up, with an early kick off ( Arsenal vs Chelsea ), yes we will have the team news for you before the deadline and it will be interesting to know the starting status of Oscar, Bertrand etc. Then we have 6 games at regular 3.00 pm and Man Utd vs Spurs as a late kick off.

Lets get straight to the easy matchups of week 6 :

Reading vs Newcastle
Sunderland vs Wigan
Everton vs Southampton
Norwich vs Liverpool

Forwards :

1. Ba
Was our pick last week as well and continues to be here with some good form. Newcastle are getting most of their injured plays back such Tiote, Coloccini etc which will make them only stronger. Ben Arfa and Ba have been complimenting each other well and that helps Ba's game altogether.

2. Fletcher
He has been is good form since hes come on at Sunderland and he has kept them in the thick of things even though as a team they have not hit good form. He has scored 4 goals with only 4 shots on target which is great but not such a good stat for a fantasy manager playing the Yahoo format as you need lots of shots on targets , crosses won, assists etc which make a player worth every penny you spend on him. However its all set up for Fletcher to add to those stats this weekend against Wigan at home. In case you dont fancy spending 14.xx for those stats, there is Suarez who has not done much at all and we do expect more from him when he's up against Norwich. Makes Fletcher safer pick than Suarez so its comes down to your risk appetite.

3. Lambert
In top form, does so much more than just scoring goals and his price is still not so high as just few reasons why Lambert is tailor made for this game.I would pick him ahead of the "big" name forwards on offer this week as he has been in good form and very productive in this game.

Option : Suarez
There has to be one day when Liverpool will get out of the relegation zone and what better opportunity than this weekend away to Norwich. Liverpool have been off since the start of the season but showed some strength against Manchester United last week. There are lots of upsides to this team but its just a matter of time. You got to take your chances with Suarez this week in case you prefer taking risks.

Injury update : Jelavic is fit for Everton.

Midfielders :

4. Ben Arfa
Similar reasons as last week and as explained above in relation to Ba.

5. Fellaini
He has been the pick of the Everton players this week and Moyes is using him at the right place. Such a threat with his height he could make Southampton defenders look weak this week. With Jelavic back in the squad , i would still expect Fellaini to play upfront and continue to do well.

6. K.Nolan
He has been is good form for West Ham and instrumental to their start of the season. He is one of those players who quietly goes about doing his business without making much noise. He has been averaging just close to 10 pts per game which is good. With 3 goals already and QPR next , he could be a differential this week.

7. Cazorla
Showed immense class against Man City last week and showed that he is ready to face big teams early one. Its these big games like the one coming up against Chelsea, which could bring the best out of players like Cazorla.

Option : Pienaar
Good pick this week as he has been consistently giving good numbers since the start. Last week against Swansea he looked sharp and did set up Mirallas for his goal. In case you dont want to go heavy with Everton, i would suggest Sterling who costs just 3.32 and the least he does is return his value.

Defenders :

8. L. Baines
One
defender i wouldnt mind spending the finds this week is Baines who has been great for Everton this season. His has been taking all the free kicks from outside the box and is just threatening from the left flank. All this apart from the possibility of giving clean sheet points. Worth the funds this week.

9. Rafael
Similar reasons as Baines. This guy has been on fire this season and he just seems to be controlling his game. With the absence of Valencia, Rafael could benefit as he would have lots of space on the right wing to exploit. However, this week he will be up against Bale and he will have to have his work cut out. Could pay off.

10. Santon
The only side i see having the best chance of a clean sheet is Newcastle apart from Sunderland, the rest of the matchups look really like anyones game. Having to pick a newcastle defender, would surely have to be Santon as apart from the clean sheet he does more to offer on the left flanks.

Option : Coates
With Kelly and Agger injured, it will be the likes of Coates and Carragher who will feature in the back 4 for Liverpool. At a reasonable price of 4.44, Coates is worth a look against easier opposition.

Goalkeeper :

11. Mignolet
Good home game against Wigan and they are slowly getting their game in order after an average start to the season. I would go for a home keeper rather than expecting alot from away teams.

Option : Reina
He is cheap at 5.xx and you wouldn't get him any cheaper. Norwich is not at all a tough team to play against and if Liverpool get their defense sorted, it could be well worth the investment on Reina.

Well, that's all we have for week 6, lots of other options as well but we have preferred form over other factors this week. Tough to leave out the likes of Berbatov, Aguero etc but thats just the way it is when you try and pick the best for this one week.

Do let us know how your team is shaping us. Have a great weekend.

With 4 weeks in the new season, i get hold of Week 5 preview and player picks ( my first article for the season ) and yes many more to come as we go along.

Looking at the way things have moved in these 4 weeks, it has to be said that its a long season ahead and things dont get any easier for a fantasy manager. The reason i say this is because every week the scenario is different from the previous week and with champions league group stages on, one should expect lots of rotations from the top 4 teams.

We shall be keeping tract on the probability of starting, form, opposition etc to consider our top 15 for the coming week.

Lets get straight to the easy matchups of week 5 :

Chelsea vs Stoke
West Brom vs Reading
Newcastle vs Norwich
Tottenham vs QPR

Forwards :
1. Defoe
In form striker, easy opposition, Adebayor injured and AVB's 1st choice makes Defoe our top forward for this week. With 3 goals in the first 4 games, his confidence is great and i wouldnt want to go into this week without picking him.

2. Ba
Been is good form and showed why he is such a threat upfront. He is back to where he started with Newcastle and playing more of a upfront role which is always great for his potential. In case you have the money to spend on a forward, he is the right fit.

3. R. Lambert
I would somehow pick him ahead of hazard ( played midweek ), Podolski ( plays against Man City ) and Tevez ( played midweek & Aguero fit ).
Playing at home against Aston Villa (who showed what they are all about last week but yet have to win away from home) could be ideal for Southampton to show what they are all about. Having said that, they have been exceptional against both Manchester clubs and literally taken the game to them.

Option : Berbatov
You just cant ignore the quality that he has
even though he might be playing for a lower level team. This week Fulham
play away to Wigan but still not the toughest of matchups and he will get his chances. I would keep him if i had him at pre barn door prices.

Midfielders :

4. Bale
What i liked about Bale last week was that he played a more central role and just behind Defoe which is the way to go for him. He must be more confident after getting a goal and more over Spurs must be feeling more confident after the impressive win last week. I would put my money on this guy for the week to come.

5. Ben Arfa
Newcastle are always stronger at home and with the likes of Cisse injured. I would expect Ben Arfa to stand up at this occasion and deliver. This man could be the differential this week and is our pick of the week.

6. Morrison
Been instrumental in West Brom's good start of the season. This week they play Reading at home and i would be all in on West Brom on this one.

7.Michu
When ever Swansea are at home you got to consider Michu as he is so important to how they shape up and at home they look great. At 7.xx he is nailed on and worth every penny you spend on him.

Option :Lallana
He is a good punt this week and at the price he is available at, he is worth it. Good matchup at home against Aston Villa who have yet to win a game away from home.

Defenders :

8. Ivanovic
One defender i wouldnt mind spending the finds on is Ivanovic as he offers so much more offensively which is an asset in this game.

9. McAuley
Heavy on West Brom against Reading and he has been is great form early on in the season. Averaging 11+ points per game and a goal are some good stats for a defender.

10.Vertonghen
He is due a big game and was just unlucky last week to have given away a clean sheet in the dying minutes of the game last week. He is capable of scoring goals and its just a matter of time he makes his presence felt. He is cheap and worth a shout.

Option : Buttner
It depends on Alex's team selection on whether he will play Evra or Buttner against Liverpool, but as Evra played in midweek, it would work in Buttners favour. Only thing i would be vary of the whole Suarez - Evra episode last year and would that be any factor on Evra's inclusion in the side. I would still stick with Buttner as he is just the type of left back needed in this game.

Goalkeeper :

11. Jaaskelainen
Just gets the nod ahead of other home keepers due to his performances over the last 2-3 weeks and he has made some great saves. Great value for money pick if you have him at lower prices and worth keeping till they play the top 3 teams.

Option : Harper
At home against Norwich who looked poor offensively last week against West Ham. I would look for an improvement in Newcastle's defense this time around and hopefully they should get the job done. I would not spend alot on Cech against Stoke as Chelsea have been letting in goals lately.

Well that all the options we have for Week 5. Im sure it would help you and get a team strong enough for the weekend. Let us know how your team is shaping up. We will be there to recommend and help.

Cheers

Roland Juhasz -"Missed you on the Barn door bro..."

Back after the international break, feels like another start to the season. The internationals have done exactly what fantasy managers fear they would end up doing....complicating their lives. The big question this week is the availability of the RVP and Kagawa duo, with potentially the most profitable investments, both a doubt with injuries picked up while playing for their countries. SAF is never one to depend on when it comes to injury status updates, unlike Wenger who tends to be a little more helpful if not direct. Anyways, on to the matchups.

So things stand fairly simple with Arsenal vs Southampton, Manchester Utd. vs Wigan and QPR vs Chelsea as the matches to concentrate your money on. One situation we all should consider is that this is the first week of champions league group stage which means all top club would seriously be considering "preserving" their energies for the big night out, especially SAF who would not take the competition lightly this time around after embarrassing knockouts from previous seasons.

The Starting XI

Goalkeeper:
1. Szczensy: He's is fit and likely to take back No.1 spot. At the start of the season if you would have asked most that are three successive clean sheets possible for Arsenal, most wouldn't have backed a situation like that....same would go for four clean sheets, which is why there is no reason for it not to happen.
Options: Jussi is a good play just for the price he is available to most for, as at less than 4 he can play as a great enabler, so if on discount stick on.

Defenders:
2. Vermaelen: He's the best premium defender to put your money on this week as he, like always has that extra bit of spark over most players on the field and the bonus of a great matchup.
3. Vidic: Its odd that I'm thinking of suggesting a player who has given 1 point in three matches but then again its Vidic at less than 8 mil... things get tougher for United after this week so this would be the ideal time to capitalise on the bargain.
4. Vertonghen: I keep showing alot of confidence in him and he keeps showing he deserves it....sadly on the international front. What a thumping left foot free kick it was from him. If only it was Redknapp instead of "I destroy London clubs" AVB.....still, he has potential and an excellent run of matches...I'm talking about Vertonghen there, just to clarify.
Options: Jenkinson at the value of less than 5.5 mil and consistently giving a good return he should be an ideal fit in your teams. Another good consideration is Ivanovic just for the form he's been in. If you don't fancy Vidic and still want some Utd. defence then Rafael is the pick for you.

Midfielders:
5. Cazorla: He has to have become a must have in all teams by now. He's matching the hype and no doubt will carry this through the season. I think Arsenal have found a great asset and finally filled the gap left by Cesc...and he's better, arguably.
6. Michu: Love these kind of picks who don't involve any kind of ifs or buts or maybe....and this year we have to of them. We all have him, we all love him. More ear twisting celebrations please.
7. Ben Arfa: He seems to be becoming a very integral part of newcastle's setup with a role involving alot of freedom of movement. Although he has scored 2 goals in three he also has only 2 shots in three so if he's going to be a story of hit and miss is still to be seen. I like him playing monday night as a good push to the rank right at the end of the weekend.
8. Duff: Averging a crazy 16 points every match in three weeks Duff seems to have taken no one by surprise as no one is talking of him. Jol has given Duff a great role of creator and he's performing in it outstandingly. With a good strong team and home advantage he could be a pick of the week. By the way, he's the top scoring midfielder till now.
Options: Kagawa is looking less and less likely to start with Dailymail reporting he's definitely out, but if there is a clear indicator that he does, don't think twice otherwise go for Valencia. Dembele should start for Spurs and has more upside than the other overpriced spurs midfielders. Adam Johnson is going to have a home debut for sunderland and will look to shine.

Forwards:
9. Tevez: In scintillating form and a decent run of matches, it is hard to think beyond him even with Aguero returning to training.
10. Hazard: Back from a long break, Back into the lineups, still below 10 and the creative hub of the team. Look for him to return your confidence. He's going to be a safe pick as alot of people will be holding and picking him for the week. Very risky if you leave him out.
11. RVP: The big big question of the week...will RVP start? well this is just down to the information that we will be able to receive before the deadline. One thing is pretty straight forward, If he plays he stays in the team, so if barn doored do not let the discount go just yet. We will have to hang on to this one till saturday and see how things pan out. Have a "back up team" planned and have a "RVP team" planned so that once things are clear or still unclear you can make that choice in an instant.
Options: Podolski is there as a good cheap options playing home against a weak team...things that you would generally want a player to have. Berbatov can bring some change to the Fulham front line and probably will get the nod from Jol in the starting XI. If RVP is out Welbeck can be a straight swap with as much potential with no Rooney, no RVP front line for Utd.

So looks like we are in for quite an eventful time till we hit the deadline with most of the teams in the air with the RVP questing hanging above us. Lets hope we all get some solid news and make it a comfortable sailing towards the deadline as it always is......wink wink.

See you on the other side
By the time we get this matchday rolling all teams would have gone through the hustle and bustle of the transfer deadline day and be equipped to go through till january with the players in hand. It would be a relief for us managers with questions such as VDV or Siggy out of the way and our choices not to be spoiled by who starts and who doesn't decisions...not that I still would trust AVB to make the right call.
Anyway onto this weeks matches.

Things are quite defined this week as the Manchester clubs will look to dominate inferior opposition, Totenham and Newcastle will both try and get back to winning ways with highly potent winnable home matches and rest can be swept out of the equation to some extent for this week.

The Starting XI:

GoalKeeper:
1. Krul: He's is so well priced for his value that it gets hard to pick all else that are above him. Playing behind a great combination of Colo and Taylor with Tiote expected back I see no reason why he cant give a great return back. Aston Villa are not really an attacking threat and should be a comfortable win for the maggpies.
Options: Hart playing home on the back of NO clean sheets, no clean sheets for City...well that needs to change, and probably will.

Defenders:
2. Vertonghen: He's another great value play and showed enough that you realize that he could be a good fantasy producer in the future. For the present he's well worth.
3. Santon: Seems to have settled in well since last season and a primary part of the Newcastle back four. Although his forward insurgence does leave you wanting more, it might be just around the corner that he starts producing consistently on the other end.
4. Zabaleta: Of the ample premium defenders he seems to be one that could easily be overlooked but has alot more potential than others. With Richards out for a while he has the RB spot to himself and should be a menace.
Options: Riether is playing away to WestHam and after facing United at Old Trafford this should be a breeze for him and boost his fantasy credentials. Walker is a good play this week as he along with the Totenham defence are due a good return and Norwich home sounds a wonderful opportunity.

Midfielders:
5. Cazorla: Lived upto my call of a 10+ performance with just being the catalyst to almost all arsenal attacks, although all were unfruitful. You can expect a similar performance from him inspite of the opposition he faces as he loves to be on the ball.
6. Michu: The solitary goal was all the points scored by Michu, which isn't bad for his price, though at the current price its hard to even consider anyone else instead, hoping his phantom fantasy production also goes up.
7. Bale: He looks to be playing primarily on the left for the spurs but does tend to drift in quite a lot for the odd pop at goal. His price is up and nothing less than a 15+ production can justify it, but he has all the credentials to provide it too.
8. Kagawa: He did what was expected of him and could have even scored a brace had it not been couple of inches inside the left post. Moves a lot behind the front lone striker and another good fantasy outing is on the cards.
Options: Ben Arfa's a magician with his feet and his feints are quite deceiving, creates space in tightest of situations and has a deadly left foot, all should help in giving Aston Villa a hard time and fantasy managers a decent total. Fellaini is surprisingly still under 10 and given 2 great performances in his new position playing behind the strike.....opportunity doesn't knock twice.

Forwards:
9. Tevez: He is quite clearly the best option to go with out there looking at price, form and matchup. No questions asked, has to be in your lineups.
10. Adebayor: Once he entered the foray last week he was clearly the better option to go with for Spurs. Controlled the ball well, long enough to have the midfield catchup and play with him and definitely should more consistent than Defoe.
11. Petric: He seems to be in for some good run of matches and Fulham have a decent team around him. I'm not sure how much creativity a Dembele less Fulham would miss but he should be still amongst the goals.
Options: <strike>The 7.07 Hazard is a clear option if you want to keep the potential stud in the making in your teams for such a low price. I'm taking the 0 hit, to keep this advantage on</strike>. RVP is only in the options category for one reason which is his price otherwise he is a definite starter for me with Rooney out and him being Manchester's lone striker upfront. If you can sneak him in the team no reason for you not to go with him. Ba/Cisse is a toss up which is why they are kind of eating into each others fantasy potential, For me it would be Ba by a whisker.

So, Please do the most to enjoy this fantasy weekend to the maximum as it is the last one before the dreaded international disruptions. Things would start rolling again on 15 september.
Side note: Fifa 13 demo...11 september!...if anyones interested.

Cheers,
Hello all, the one thing we should all try and learn from the past matchday is that, to try and bring in as many double gamers is the best strategy to go with, although picks like Michu, Petric are not always possible to predict, the double gamers are a safe bet to give you a good overall production. Anyways, back to normalcy and single games weekend where things should be a little less complicated. lets go over the favourable match ups..

So from the outset Swansea look to have come out of the block at full speed and a home game to Westham shouldn't slow them down. Manchester United will like to get things in order at Old Trafford and Fulham would probably fall victim. Totenham vs Westbrom should fall into the favourable match ups category although the first MD for both clubs suggests otherwise, but we will overlook that and consider them.

The Starting XI

Goalkeeper:
1. David DeGea: He pulled off some fantastic saves against everton keeping the score line from becoming and embarrassment. You could see what the hype about him was and this season might be when he lives upto it and a little bit more.
Options: Vorm is a great goalkeeper and swansea are back at their fortress, great pick if you bdoored him or even otherwise.

Defenders:
2. Chico: Looks to be just the sort of player that fits into Swansea's ideology and is not afraid to put his body in for the block. excellent pick for the price.
3. Vidic: The United captain is never going to be cheaper than this and is coming in to his first home game after a long time. Look for him to go up for the corners and hopefully make us all happy.
4. Ivanovic: He is taking advantage of cheslea's new found attack mindedness and running up across the field to get his owners a taste of the points.
Options: Vertonghen should make the line up if AVB has any kind of common sense filled in him apart from his mind games that he likes to play with...his own mind. Reither is one if is barndoored should be stuck with for the next 4 matches.

Midfielders:
5. Cazorla: Seems to be the heart of most of the attacks Arsenal will form this season and likes to shoot as witnessed by most of us. I'm sure he'll go out there and get a decent +10 performance.
6. Michu: Main Mam Michu has lived up to his reputation for the opener. This player for his price could be "Siggy 2.0"in the making.
7. Sigurdsson: Siggy 1.0, the phantom king is playing the hole behind the striker for the spurs. He'll have a big game no doubt.
8. Lallana: The Southampton midfielder is again like our list of midfielders suggest the creative power in the team and he showed that by earning an assist against the champions. should do better against lowly Wigan.
Options: Kagawa got the license to move everywhere in the midfield from fergie and looks to be the david silva of the red side of manchester. He'll be amongst the assist when Rooney or RVP score. Bale comes in for you when you dont fancy siggy to be upto the mark. Its a toss up between them and come down to price and playing position.

Forwards:
9. Lambert: For some reason he started off the bench and when he did come off he scored and what a goal it was. He's the real deal and should for no reason be on the bench again. Look for him to make it 2 goals in 2 against wigan....minimum.
10. Tevez: He paid off so well for the managers who chose him that the managers who don't have should take him too. Against a leaky liverpool missing the first choice defence a strong Tevez performance is highly likely.
11. Hazard: Wow, talk about making an impact. The guy has assisted 5 of the 6 goals chelsea has scored, of which 2 were penalties won. He scored 18 points without having one shot on target in two games played and I say that in a positive way....waiting till he starts scoring. Could be a stud in the making.
Options: RVP, is a great option to go with as there is no doubting his talent and the team he plays for now. Look for both of them to make a statement. Adebayor is back in the frame as the main striker at white hart lane and IF he is starting(we will try and keep you guys updated on that) then he might be worth the starting XI.

So that about rounds up our week second fantasy insight. Glad to be back and writing, season is new and fresh and my target this year is finishing in the top 250. Let me know what you guys are targeting.
take care, see you at the games.
Wow, just two days away from kicking off another season!....One of the most exciting feelings for me personally. Alot of transfer activity has given most teams a fresh feel (barring Man City...they changed their formation to bring in the freshness) and with that a whole lot of new options for us to dig into as we put together our first 11 to grace the virtual fields. A double game week for 2 teams is how we are kick starting this season, those teams being Reading and Chelsea. Lets get to the business end and see where are options stand.

Now with Chelsea playing the double it is but obvious that you should take a serious look at them especially with their opposition being Wigan(A) and Reading(H). A minimum of 4 and maximum of seven should be what we should be looking at. Other good match ups involve the defending champs Man City going up against Newly promoted Southampton & Arsenal vs Sunderland.

The Starting XI:

Keeper:
1. Cech: The first choice keeper for all fantasy managers with at least one clean sheet being a definite possiblity.
Options: If you don't fancy the two gamer then you can look at Szczensy.

Defenders:
2. Ivanovic: He will play both matches at RB for chelsea and has a habit of popping in the odd goal so a no brainer.
3. Harte: The Reading defender is the set piece specialist and has two bonuses this week, his price and the two games he will play.
4. Fabio: An excellent choice for an enabler at 2.26. Should start the match.
Options: If you can sneek in another Chelsea defender instead of Fabio you could have the perfect setup, Cole & Luiz(he has a bit of rotation risk for the double matchday), else if money for cole is a problem then Fulham Riether is a good option.

Midfielders:
5. Kagawa: He was an excellent choice till the moment RVP hadn't joined United, now he's still there but maybe would play a bit deeper than previously expected. Still a good choice in the midfield for the price.
6. Cazorla: The new Arsenal forward was a fantasy stud in the spanish version of the fantasy game and is likely to stay that way. A good home game to start with could see him rise quite soon. He scored midweek for spain.
7. Ramires: He is playing the right wing role for chelsea till they find themselves and actual one. He has the pace and was the creator of Torres's go in the community shield. Also can have an odd shot at goal. Don't expect big numbers but above 10+ is very likely.
8. Taarabt: QPR has bought a host of talent around Taarabt and would play him as they key man. He is the step piece specialist and our blogs best bet. He has had a season to get use to the pace of the premier league and his time to shine.
Options: Instead of Taarabt and Ramires, you could go in for David Silva, Lampard or Michu.

Forwards:
9. Torres: You would have heard it everywhere and read it anywhere, He has no Drogba's shadow to worry about...or make an excuse of, no chelsea's old and slow midfield to whine about with hazard and mata behind him to supply him all kinds of through balls....NOTHING....so let the goals rain.
10. Hazard: He has a very good habit of shooting when ever the slightest opportunity arises to take a shot even from 30 yards out...for us yahoo managers that is just gold. Don't over think his back heel fail, he has 180 minutes to make you feel all better.
11. Aguero: The man who scored the 23 goals in his debut season with 3 other world class strikers sharing the pitch with him. His 23rd was also the most important goal of the season. This guy is the bookies favourite to be the top scorer of the league and I'm sure he'll get off the mark in week one.
Options: Aguero is expensive and his international team Tevez isn't and is no less when in comes to scoring goals, taking Tevez will help you spread the money through your team and make other areas stronger, it is a trade off that can do wonders if it works out. Giroud is an option if you really want the money be spread elsewhere.

So there you go. Our top XI with viable options. Have a blast this season and we'll be right next to you providing the insight to make it all the more exciting and fun fantasy football season. Enjoy the weekend and support your teams!
